DWG Visit to Îles de la Madeleine

On this visit, we were 19 to visit the National Park. It was good for us at the departure, there were clouds that hid the sun and no wind (so no waves) so the passage to the island was peaceful. But once on the island, there was sun and no wind, so it was hot!!There were some baobabs, not tall ones as we know them, but spread out to protect themselves from the wind. We saw 2 breeding tropic birds (red bill) and 1 young one (yellow bill). Did you know the couple lays only one egg and that male and female brood in shifts? What a modern way of makings kids!
This is a good period to visit the island. The personnel suggested for example the possibility of a picnic and a swim in the natural bay on a Saturday or Sunday. They will take you there, and pick you up later; they only suggest that you take a parasol with you because there is only shade at the top of the island. See Nathalie Germain for names and telephone numbers.
